Spain is having some good sport on many of the local lakes and reservoirs near to his home.
"Location seems to be the key" says Dave. The venue is absolutely huge and finding the fish is a task on its own, "if I can do this I'll pick up the bigger fish" reckons Dave.
I was telling David about the abismal weather we have had the last month or so and he informed me it had been awfull over there as well....it was only 17 deg at night!!!!!!! What a shame!!!! All right for some eh? Anyway, David's managed to locate a few really nice lumps on a recent trip to a local pool near his home. This little beauty being just one of them at 25lb+ its a stunning common by any standards. The new lake looks as if its going to be a real winner, and could well throw up something really exciting too! I'm on my way out there at last, sometime between March and April if all goes according to plan, so watch this space for a full report. Until then take a look at Davids site Fishing Portugal, and get yourself over there for some hot action.February 2008.

Just had some news back from David in Portugal and his new venue has just thrown up some cracking fish including a new PB for the master himself!
A weeks fishing on the new venue with some clients saw very low night time temperatures and some quite tough fishing.
The new venue appears to have some very large residents but most seemed to be held up in a bay just out of casting distance.
David is giving some thought to purchasing a baitboat to get his baits in amoungst some of these monsters!
All the same he did manage a new PB in the shape of this stunning 41lb common featured here.
Well done mate!!!! What a stunning fish!
