Euro Carper

Lake Vinuela. Spain. Sep '07.

Here's some recent news from our man on the ground in Spain. Young intrepid Colin Davidson based in Spain is having some good sport on many of the local lakes and reservoirs near to his home.

Colin, a good family friend and competant angler moved out to Spain about 7-8 years ago, in search of a more chilled out life style.

It certainly seems that from some recent pictures he sent us, he found his chilled out life over in Spain!
Colin has been taking some nice Carp especially from Lake Vinuela and from the pics posted I'm sure you'll agree he's a very lucky chap being in such a beautiful climate.

Well done Colin keep up the good work.

If any of you are interested in going over to Spain to fish then please email us through the web site and we can point you in the right direction with regards to where to stay and to fish as well.

Portugal

Portugal. Oct '07.

I've just had a nice email from our friend at CL Baits based in Portugal. David has written to tell us a little about his exploits over in warmer clime's!
Things have been busy for David with regards to plenty of fishing clients and this has kept him very busy this last month or so.

He's been concentrating his efforts on a new venue this last couple of weeks and from all accounts the fishing has been a little harder than he expected. Most of the venues they fish over there are absolutely crammed with fish but the new venue has proved a little trickier than the others as the fish are a lot bigger and cagier.

He's had his share of fish but he's after some of the really big lumps of 60lb+ that he's seen in the venue.
"Location seems to be the key" says Dave. The venue is absolutely huge and finding the fish is a task on its own, "if I can do this I'll pick up the bigger fish" reckons Dave.

Well we reckon he's a lucky devil anyway, just living out there and fishing for a living is enough to make us all a tad jealous!

Here's a snap of a nice common carp Dave caught this week whilst hunting down those elusive monsters.

We have just had word from David Lloyd, our man on the ground in Portugal, that he's landed an exciting new venue. The venue in question contains some whopping great carp in excess of 60lbs+. All the fish taken from the venue so far have been over the 20lb barrier.
I was telling David about the abismal weather we have had the last month or so and he informed me it had been awfull over there as well....it was only 17 deg at night!!!!!!! What a shame!!!! All right for some eh? Anyway, David's managed to locate a few really nice lumps on a recent trip to a local pool near his home. This little beauty being just one of them at 25lb+ its a stunning common by any standards. The new lake looks as if its going to be a real winner, and could well throw up something really exciting too! I'm on my way out there at last, sometime between March and April if all goes according to plan, so watch this space for a full report. Until then take a look at Davids site Fishing Portugal, and get yourself over there for some hot action.

Just had some news back from David in Portugal and his new venue has just thrown up some cracking fish including a new PB for the master himself!

A weeks fishing on the new venue with some clients saw very low night time temperatures and some quite tough fishing.

All the same, the boys managed a few really nice fish each.

The new venue appears to have some very large residents but most seemed to be held up in a bay just out of casting distance.

David is giving some thought to purchasing a baitboat to get his baits in amoungst some of these monsters!

All the same he did manage a new PB in the shape of this stunning 41lb common featured here.

Well done mate!!!! What a stunning fish!
I cant wait to get out there now!
